Two people have died at different Auckland beaches on the same afternoon.
Around 4:30pm on Friday, emergency services received a report a person had "encountered difficulty" in the water at Narrow Neck Beach, on the North Shore.
They were brought to shore but were unable to be revived and died.
A second person died after a water-related incident near Big Manly Beach, Manly, near Whangaparāoa.
Police said emergency services responded but the person was found dead.
Both deaths will be referred to the Coroner.
