Images from the aftermath of Cyclone Gabrielle show the sheer scale of destruction and devastation in the Hawke's Bay and Gisborne regions.
Cyclone Gabrielle slammed into Aotearoa early last week causing widespread flooding, evacuations and a number of fatalities.
Hawke's Bay and Gisborne were hit particularly hard with flash flooding damaging hundreds of homes and completely wiping out key infrastructure.
Satellite images supplied to Newshub show the sheer scale of the damage. One photo shows the bridge over the Tutaekuri River in Hawke's Bay completely washed away after the cyclone.
Others show paddocks and buildings covered in thick mud and silt.
