Six people have been arrested after a robbery at a south Auckland pizza shop overnight where the alleged thieves stole ice creams.
Police said they responded to reports of a burglary at Black Box Pizza on Coronation Rd in Māngere Bridge at 2:30am.
The group of alleged thieves fled the scene in a stolen vehicle but shortly after, police were able to stop the vehicle.
"Police located and stopped the vehicle without incident," a police spokesperson said.
"Six people were taken into custody and charges are being considered."
NZ Herald reports the alleged thieves took Magnum ice cream tubs from the pizza shop.
Police also responded to a report of an attempted burglary at West Liquor Glen Eden on Captain Scott Road in Glen Eden at 4:15am.
Police said the offenders failed to gain entry but a window was smashed.
A police spokesperson said inquiries into the attempted burglary are ongoing.
