A man has been arrested after he allegedly stabbed and seriously injured a bus driver in Auckland on Saturday evening.
Newshub understands a bus driver was allegedly stabbed on the footpath in Mt Roskill.
Police said they were called to White Swan Road in Mt Roskill at 7:45pm after reports someone had been seriously injured.
A police spokesperson said the person was taken to hospital.
A Hato Hone St John spokesperson said they responded to the stabbing with one ambulance, one rapid response unit and one manager.
The spokesperson said they assessed and treated one patient who was transported to Auckland City Hospital in a serious condition.
Police arrested a 62-year-old man shortly after and he will appear in the Auckland District Court on Monday.
He’s been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
