The anti-co-governance roadshow has hit another speed bump with Auckland Council cancelling the booking for Tuesday night's venue.
Event organiser, evangelist Julian Batchelor, had booked the council-owned Mount Eden War Memorial Hall to host one of his controversial 'Stop Co-Governance' talks.
But a group opposing it, the Aotearoa Liberation League, an activist group led by partners Samah and Pere Huriwai-Seger, said the council has cancelled all bookings at the venue.
Aotearoa Liberation League had hired out the hall straight after Batchelor's meeting in a bid to protest his talk.
A letter from the council said Tuesday's bookings were ditched because of security concerns.
According to the "Stop Co-Governance" website, there are 32 events planned for around the country from Tuesday until mid-July with only 17 venues listed.
The cancelled event in Auckland comes after Newstalk ZB reported eight venues had either cancelled, refused a booking, hadn't received a booking or are meeting to decide whether to decline.
But Batchelor is still confident he'll be able to keep his show on the road.
"Some of the bookings have been difficult, others have been easy," he said.
"It depends who the booking people are. We've found that people who have some character and an IQ over room temperature, they know what's going on ..."
A petition has also been created calling for Batchelor's tour to be cancelled. It has thousands of signatures and is alleging the roadshow incites racial disharmony between Māori and Pakeha.
It comes after police had to separate protesters and attendees at the Ōrewa event earlier this month.
