Candy-flavoured squiggles are back, much to the delight of fans of the popular biscuit.
People started noticing the biscuits disappearing off shelves in 2019 and have been calling for the favourite to make a comeback.
Social media posts show the outrage at the loss of the Candy squiggle and the demand for their return.
One person tweeted: “Today I found out that candy squiggles no longer exist and I'm devastated…”
Someone else chimed in with disappointment “bring back the candy squiggles!”
And another saying “What happened to the candy squiggles, need them back ASAP!”
The candy-flavored treat was the first ever squiggle released in 1980 and is clearly still a fan favourite today.
The wait is now over with Griffins announcing that from today candy squiggles will be available everywhere, yet again.
Griffin's spokesperson Rachel Horrell said “New Zealand spoke and we listened. We’re thrilled to bring back a popular product that Kiwis have been craving.”
Fans took to social media to share their excitement about the return with one saying “Candy squiggles are back. They should have never left!” another joining in sharing “thanking god for candy squiggles, on my way to find some now!”
The biscuit is now available nationwide.
