A person has died after being assaulted in the Waikato town of Ngāruawāhia.
Emergency services were called to an address on Cavan St just before 9:30pm on Wednesday.
Police said the person was found dead inside the house when officers arrived.
A 23-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder. He's due to appear in the Hamilton District Court on Thursday.
No one else is being sought in relation to the assault, police said.
