A woman has been arrested following a drive-by shooting in New Plymouth last week.
Detective Sergeant Byron Reid said the 40-year-old woman was arrested on Saturday and will appear in New Plymouth District Court on Wednesday.
The woman is facing charges of recklessly discharging a firearm and unlawfully possessing a firearm.
Reid said it's believed at least two shots were fired at a Penrod Drive address and a vehicle in the driveway on March 19.
He added enquiries into the drive-by shooting are ongoing.
Reid said he hopes the news of the arrest will provide some reassurance to the public.
"Everyone has the right to feel safe in their community and we take these matters very seriously," Reid said.
"We will do all we can to hold offenders to account. Police would like to thank the members of the public who have assisted us thus far with our investigation."
