A woman who was wanted over the murder of an Auckland man is now in custody.
The body of Daniel Otess, 57, was found on Symonds St, Grafton, at 5:20am on Sunday.
Police were searching for a 32-year-old woman in relation to his death. Detective Senior Sergeant Steve Salton said she had a warrant to arrest and she presented at the Manukau Police Station on Thursday afternoon.
Det Snr Sgt Salton said he hopes news of an arrest brings Otess's family and the wider Auckland community some reassurance.
"The woman taken into custody will now face a murder charge and is expected to appear in the Auckland District Court tomorrow [Friday]."
Det Snr Sgt Salton said police are not looking for anyone else in connection to the 57-year-old's murder.
As the matter is before the Court, police said they are not able to comment any further on the case.
