Armed police swarmed an east Auckland suburb overnight after an drive-by shooting believed to be targeting the headquarters for the Auckland Black Power chapter.
A police spokesperson said officers responded after reports of a drive-by shooting on Jolson Rd in Mt Wellington at around 11pm on Saturday.
The spokesperson said police received reports of gunshot sounds being heard in the area.
"Police responded to the scene and spoke to several occupants at the address identified and they did not provide any information to suggest shots had been fired," the spokesperson said.
Police said there were no injuries and a scene guard was in place overnight while investigations continue into the drive-by shooting.
A Newshub cameraman at the scene said he could see the house riddled with bullet holes.
The cameraman said armed police blocked the roads near the targeted house and the family at the address, who had young children, were evacuated for the night.
