Police have named the man killed after he was shot by police on Sunday.
Darren Norman Lyttle, 53, was killed after officers were called to a house on Seddon Street just before 1pm Sunday following reports a man had shot at a neighbour's window.
When they arrived police said Lyttle refused to come out of the house and speak to officers.
Central District Commander Superintendent Scott Fraser said Lyttle was shot around eight hours later when he presented a gun at officers. He died while being transported to the hospital.
"Our thoughts remain with his family and loved ones at this difficult time," a police spokesperson said.
The police investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
