Police are on the hunt for a man who assaulted a teenage girl in a west Auckland park on Wednesday.
Police told Newshub the man allegedly broke into a house on Parma Place in Henderson before following a teenage girl to a nearby park and assaulting her.
"This man has followed the victim from the property, a teenage girl, to a reserve area off Chislehurst Street where she has been subjected to an assault," Waitematā West CIB Detective Senior Sergeant Megan Goldie said.
"Police have examined a section of the reserve as well as the girl's home. An area canvass as well as an extensive CCTV phase in the investigation is also well underway."
Detective Sergeant Goldie said the investigation team is working to establish the circumstances and identify the offender involved.
According to Stuff, the young girl was found by a group of bikers after she screamed for help.
Police are asking anyone in the area who witnessed suspicious activity around Parma Place, Chislehurst Street, Newham place and Bloom Crescent areas on Wednesday morning to get in contact.
