Police swarmed a Rotorua suburb on Tuesday morning after a "sudden death".
A police spokesperson said emergency services were called to a property in the suburb of Mangakakahi, shortly before 4:30am.
Police said a person has died in "unexplained" circumstances.
They have declined to provide further details.
