The sister of slain Hawke's Bay 18-year-old Ariki Rigby has made some disturbing and confronting revelations about the crime.
Anahera Rigby says her sister's hands and feet were cut off before the vehicle she was in was set alight, and later found at River Rd Recreational Reserve in September, in a remote area of Havelock North.
In a graphic interview with YouTube channel The Felon Show, Anahera said multiple people were involved in her sister's death and she wants them found.
"You know they do say that she had broken bones. I suppose they forgot to mention that she also had her hands and feet cut off," she said.
Anahera claimed the people who killed her sister shoved Ariki's body under the driver's car seat.
"As much as they could get her under there so most of her body was under there but it was burnt."
She said her family are "so grateful" a walker found her sister's body, "otherwise she would have forever been declared a missing person", Anahera claimed.
She claimed police were "going to get the car towed and crushed" if the walker hadn't found Ariki.
"The walker, who is in touch with his wairua [spiritual] side, he heard my sister. She was talking to him, screaming at him and then he started having a conversation with my sister," she claimed.
On Tuesday, police would neither confirm nor deny to Newshub what Anahera said, saying the investigation is at a sensitive stage.
