Three people have been injured after an attack reportedly involving a knife at Auckland's Newmarket Motel.
A police spokesperson confirmed to Newshub officers responded to reports of an altercation at and address on Manukau Road, Epsom around 1pm.
"It appears one person has received moderate injuries and been transported to hospital, and two people have received minor injuries," the spokesperson said.
The NZ Herald reported a pool of blood was visible on the footpath beside a bus stop in front of the motel and an injured woman was sitting on the ground outside talking to police.
A witness told NZ Herald he believed the alleged perpetrator, a man wearing a black hoodie and shorts, was homeless.
"It looked like his face had been sliced with a knife. He was real cut up, his face and stuff," he said.
The police spokesperson said the investigation into the altercation is ongoing and the Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) are at the scene working to determine what has occurred.
