A petrol station worker is injured after being assaulted by robbers in Auckland's Western Springs on Wednesday morning.
Officers were seen carrying out investigations at the Caltex service station on Great North Rd after offenders smashed their way in just after midnight.
It's believed there was at least one worker inside the store, which is advertised as being open 24 hours.
Det Snr Sgt Scott Armstrong, of Auckland City, said two offenders were involved in the robbery.
"The night attendant retreated to the rear of the shop but was assaulted by the two men and sustained minor injuries," Armstrong said, adding the worker was "understandably shaken by the offenders' violent action".
Armstrong said the offenders stole multiple items and fled in a stolen vehicle, which was subsequently found abandoned in the nearby suburb of Morningside.
Investigations were underway, he said.
In a separate incident on Tuesday evening, a person was injured in a shooting in the Auckland suburb of Clover Park.
Emergency services were called to Clutha Cres just before 5:40pm on Tuesday, with police officers setting up a cordon while investigations were carried out.
A man received moderate injuries in the shooting, a police spokesperson said.
"Another person located at the address was taken into custody at the time, however no charges have been laid at this stage," police said.
An investigation was ongoing and anyone with information was urged to contact the police on 105, quoting file number 230502/3098.
