A large fire has ripped through an Auckland property near the Harbour Bridge on Sunday morning.
A police spokesperson said at around 1:40am, police received a request for assistance from Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) who attended a house fire on Shelley Beach Road in St Marys Bay.
Northern Fire and Emergency shift manager Lauren Sika told Newshub the blaze at the three-storey villa was "well involved" when fire crews arrived.
They responded with three fire appliances and two support vehicles remain at the scene.
Sika said there were no injuries reported but couldn't comment on if everyone was accounted for after the blaze.
"The status of whether all people are accounted for is unknown at this stage," Sika said.
Sika said fire crews were dampening down exposure points at 2:52am.
Police said the fire had been extinguished at 6am.
The police spokesperson said officers attended the blaze to help with traffic management.
Waka Kotahi New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) said the Shelly Beach off-ramp from the Harbour Bridge is closed due to the fire.
"Please detour via Fanshawe St off-ramp and expect delays," NZTA said.
