An investigation has been opened by the police after Tauranga school students reported "suspicious behaviour" by a man last week.
A police spokesperson said three students reported the behaviour on 19th and 20th Ave, on the evenings of May 10 and 11.
"Police are undertaking a number of enquiries in relation to this report, including reviewing available CCTV footage from the area," the spokesperson said.
Officers will visit schools in the area to provide some reassurance and give some general safety advice, police said.
"We know that reports of incidents such as these can cause considerable concern for parents and other members of our community," the spokesperson said.
"We would urge everyone to be alert, not alarmed, and to take the opportunity to have conversations with your children about what they should do should they feel unsafe."
Anyone who has information is urged to contact the police on 105, quoting file number 230511/8498.
