A man is in custody after allegedly using an air rifle to rob an Auckland dairy.
The incident happened at Mount Richmond Park Superette in Mt Wellington on Sunday afternoon.
"At about 4:40pm a man entered the Richmond Superette with a backpack," a police spokesperson told Newshub.
"Once inside, the man removed an air rifle from his backpack and presented it at the store owner.
"The man stole a coke and a bag of chips before leaving on foot across the Mount Richmond Reserve."
Footage from the scene shows police cars and a dog handling unit outside the superette.
Police say the man was found walking through the nearby park and taken into custody a short time later.
