Thieves have targeted a west Auckland petrol station overnight, smashing their way in while a worker was inside.
Police officers were called at about 11:30pm on Tuesday to Caltex on Clark St in the suburb of New Lynn, after five people smashed their way in.
Waitematā Police said the group, who were all concealing their faces with masks, smashed a glass door to gain entry to the store.
"They have stolen the till and fled in a stolen vehicle," a police spokesperson said.
Footage from the scene shows the entrance to the store smashed with shattered glass inside and outside the store.
A worker was inside the petrol station at the time of the robbery but police confirmed he was unharmed.
"Police will ensure support is available to him," the spokesperson said.
Police have since recovered the stolen vehicle and inquiries are ongoing to identify and "hold those responsible to account".
"Anyone with information to assist our enquiries can contact 105 quoting the file number 230524/5887," the spokesperson said.
It comes after a similar robbery at a Western Springs petrol station earlier this month - with officers arresting three teenagers for the "violent" crime.
Police said a petrol station worker was injured after being assaulted by robbers.
