Wellington's Mount Victoria bus tunnel is now clear after seven buses were reportedly stuck inside following a breakdown.
A video posted to Twitter showed a number of buses halted inside the Mt Victoria bus tunnel, which runs between Mount Victoria and Hataitai, just before 3pm on Friday.
The video also showed a number of passengers walking through the narrow tunnel. The Twitter user said a trainee driver told them the pileup was a result of a breakdown.
Newshub went to the tunnel just before 5pm and the tunnel had cleared with public transport resuming.
Newshub has contacted Wellington Regional Council for comment.
