Auckland police are still working to identify and locate a thief who stole alcohol and money from an east Auckland liquor store.
A police spokesperson said staff were called just before 9pm on Sunday following a report of a robbery at a liquor store on Mt Wellington's Penrose Rd.
In a statement, the spokesperson said the offender threatened a staff member with a weapon, which police say was not a firearm.
The alleged offender then stole alcohol and money before fleeing from the scene on foot.
Newshub understands about $800 cash was stolen from the liquor store, as well as cigarettes.
Police say there were no injuries as a result of the robbery, but said their enquiries are "ongoing" to identify and locate the offender.
