The lockdown at Auckland's North Shore Hospital has been lifted after a man allegedly made verbal threats.

The lockdown was in place earlier on Monday afternoon as a precaution, a police spokesperson said, and police were on-site.

Police have now found the man who allegedly made the verbal threats.

"The man is assisting with our enquiries and no charges have been laid at this time," the spokesperson said.

Police said earlier that there were no injuries reported as a result of the incident.
