Three people have been wounded after an attack in Auckland on Monday night.
Police say they were called to Corinthian Drive in Albany just after 9pm after a person entered several businesses and "struck customers with a weapon".
Newshub understands this weapon may have been an axe. Photos from the scene show a large police presence outside a taped-off restaurant.
A Police spokesperson told Newshub three people have been taken to hospital with moderate to serious injuries.
"At this early stage Police are still working to understand the circumstances and piece together what has happened," they told Newshub.
"No further information is likely to be available this evening."
