Two pedestrians are in hospital, one in a critical condition, and two people have been arrested after a hit-and-run in Wellington on Sunday morning.
Police said they were called to Cable Street at around 1:15am after reports of a crash involving a car and two pedestrians.
The car fled the scene and the two injured pedestrians were taken to hospital.
Police said the car was later found on Evans Bay Parade and the occupants, a 23-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman were arrested.
Police said enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing, and charges will be laid in due course.
