A manhunt is underway after a person was injured and another shaken during an aggravated robbery of a west Auckland home on Tuesday evening.
At about 11pm, the occupant of a house on Woodglen Rd in Glen Eden was visited by a person known to them and another unknown male, Detective Senior Sergeant Simon Harrison of Waitematā said.
"The victim has been assaulted during the incident with a range of personal items taken," Harrison said.
"A neighbour disturbed offenders in the act when police were contacted and both offenders fled the address."
While the two men were fleeing the area, both offenders have stolen a vehicle from a resident returning home.
"Enquiries are underway to locate both offenders as well as the vehicle, which is a 2020 Suzuki Swift with the registration PJT540," Harrison said.
The victim from inside the house was taken to hospital for a check-up, police added.
"Fortunately neither victims suffered serious injuries, however, both are understandably shaken by the unacceptable offending they have been subjected to," Harrison said.
"We are ensuring support is available to both of them. Glen Eden residents can be reassured police will be working to hold those responsible to account."
Anyone with information about the robbery is urged to come forward and speak with the police.
