Police investigating the disappearance of Christchurch real estate agent Yanfei Bao have received numerous tip-offs from the public.
Bao went missing while she was door-knocking for work in the Wigram area on Wednesday. Christchurch police and her family say her disappearance is very out of character and there are deep concerns for her safety.
Police spent Friday retracing her steps and found one of Bao's cellphones on the Southern Motorway near Blakes Rd. In a standup later that day, Detective Inspector Nicola Reeves appealed for CCTV footage and information on her movements.
"Following yesterday's media appeal for information on missing person Yangfei Bao, Police can confirm we have received more than 40 pieces of information from the public, which we are in the process of assessing," Det Insp Reeves said in an update on Saturday.
"We want to thank the public for coming forward, and encourage anyone who has not yet done so to let us know if they have information that may assist."
Forty police officers are working on the case, which is being treated as a missing persons investigation.
Police are asking anyone with information to call 111 and quote file number P055385539.
