Armed police have searched an Auckland gang pad over a homicide in Auckland's Point England last weekend.

The armed offenders squad carried out a search warrant at the Rebel MC gang pad in Ōtāhuhu on Friday morning.

It comes after 32-year-old Charles Anthony Pongi was shot at Taurima Reserve in Point England on Saturday and later died at Auckland Hospital.

A homicide investigation was then launched by Police.

The investigation is looking at the involvement of members of both the Head Hunters MC and Rebel MC gangs in last Saturday's fatal shooting, said Detective Inspector Glenn Baldwin.

"Our enquiries thus far have indicated that the Rebel's gang pad is a location of interest for us and we are continuing to make enquiries into possible suspects," Det Insp Baldwin said.

"No further arrests have been made at this stage, however the investigation is still gathering and reviewing a large amount of CCTV footage.

"This was an incredibly alarming incident to happen for the community in Pt England," he added.

Information and CCTV from the wider community is continuing to assist the investigation, however Det Insp Baldwin said police still need to hear from anyone with video or information.
