Two people have been arrested in relation to a homicide investigation launched after a man's death in central Auckland.
In a statement, Detective Inspector Scott Beard of Auckland City CIB said emergency services were called to an address on Upper Queen Street at 1.13pm on Wednesday after reports of a person with injuries.
The 70-year-old man was transported to hospital but died.
Stuff is reporting the incident involved a stabbing.
Police earlier said two people were in custody and assisting them with inquiries.
On Wednesday night, a 35-year-old man and 26-year-old woman were arrested.
Police have not said what they are charged with, but they are due to appear in Auckland District Court on Thursday.
"Police are still working to notify the victim's next of kin," a statement said.
A post mortem examination will be carried on on Thursday.
