One person has died suddenly at Buckland School in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland on Wednesday, causing a lockdown.
The primary school wrote on its website earlier on Wednesday it had locked down due to an "adult medical emergency", and added "all children are safe and well."
In an update on Wednesday afternoon, Buckland School wrote "our thoughts are with the family" of the "long-time visitor" to the school.
"Thank you to the agencies that supported us and the parents for being so understanding."
A police spokesperson told Newshub officers were called to a "sudden death" just after 12pm involving an adult on school grounds.
"There are no suspicious circumstances, and Police will undertake our usual enquiries when a sudden death occurs."
"Please do not come to the school or phone the school as you will not be attended to. Your assistance and cooperation are appreciated at this time," wrote Buckland School.
A Hāto Hone St John spokesperson told Newshub they were called to the school just after 11am.
Two ambulances and an operations manager attended.
Students in Years 1 to 8 attend the co-educational school, located about a five-minute drive south of Pukekohe.
Police are notifying other agencies and supporting those affected.
The school will post any updates on its website.
