Principal Sandy Pasley the students were "very young" and it is "very worrying".
Schools nearby have issued warnings in response telling parents and students to be on the lookout for suspicious behaviour.
Diocesan School for Girls in Epsom emailed parents urging them and their children to have strategies in place should they be approached by a stranger on the way to or from school.
The school said students should walk to school with friends, never take food from strangers, and say no and walk away if a stranger makes them feel uncomfortable. They told students not to answer questions or respond to someone they don't know and never get in a car with a stranger.
"While we think most of our younger girls are dropped off and picked up at school by their families, we are sending this note so that all parents are aware of this incident in our wider community," Diocesan School for Girls principal Heather McRae said.
"We hope that these useful notes will help protect our girls and families and keep everyone safe."
It's reported other schools in the area have been notified including Saint Kentigern Girls' School and Saint Kentigern Preschool.
