Burglars have ram-raided a liquor store in the Auckland suburb of Manukau, leaving a trail of destruction.
The thieves drove a vehicle through the entrance of the Puhinui Liquor store at about 11:50pm on Monday, police said in a statement. "Up to four offenders" then stole property and fled in a separate car.
The vehicle used to ram-raid the store was towed to undergo a forensic examination, according to the statement.
For months liquor stores have been a frequent target of ram raiders and the latest burglary shattered the shop's front door despite a bollard being installed in front, images supplied to Newshub showed.
"Anyone with information that may assist is asked to contact… our 105 phone service, quoting job P055835455," the police said.
"Information can also be provided anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111."
