Firefighters are checking for hotspots following an early morning blaze in south Wellington.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) told Newshub fire crews were called to a commercial building blaze in Owhiro Bay shortly before 5:30am on Thursday morning.
Seven crews rushed to the scene after the property's alarm went off for a blaze that started in the switchboard room at the rear of the building.
The blaze was upgraded to a second-alarm fire but has now been contained, with crews checking for hotspots.
There have been no reports of injuries or anyone inside the building at the time of the blaze, according to FENZ.
