Police have spoken to persons of interest as part of efforts to find missing Matamata woman Jude Coxhead.

The 62-year-old "with blonde hair and of a slim build" was last seen on Saturday.

Officers had earlier appealed for information about "a couple pictured in the area" of the Wairere Falls car park on Sunday.

In a statement on Tuesday, police confirmed they've since spoken with the couple who have helped with enquiries.

It comes after police found Coxhead's vehicle in the Wairere Falls car park on Monday - about 15 minutes' drive from Matamata.

"The vehicle is a gold-coloured Nissan Tiida with the registration FLM444."

Local iwi, Land Search and Rescue, the Department of Conservation, as well as Fire and Emergency, are all helping with the search.

Police want to speak to anyone who was in, or near, the Wairere Falls car park area on Sunday between 6am and 5.30pm.

The public should call 111 and quote file number 230813/9819.
