Wairarapa Police have launched a search operation in Mount Holdsworth, near Masterton, after Michael MacGregor failed to return from a walk on Monday.
MacGregor was last seen at Mount Holdsworth's Rocky Lookout at around 12:20pm on Monday. He was wearing shorts and a hoody and may have been wearing a hat.
Police are now asking anyone who was walking in the area of Mount Holdsworth at around midday on Monday and may have seen MacGregor to contact them.
Police particularly want to speak with a person wearing orange sitting at the lookout, who appeared in the back of a video MacGregor shared on social media at the time.
"Police would like to speak with the person to see if they can assist," said a Police spokesperson.
Anyone who has seen MacGregor or has information on his whereabouts is urged to call Police on 111 and quote event number P055522968.
