Weather: Flights cancelled, delayed at Auckland Airport due to fog

Fog is causing major delays at Auckland Airport on Thursday morning, with a number of flights disrupted because of the weather. 

Auckland Airport has put fog restrictions in place, which has seen 12 domestic regional flights cancelled and 12 delayed, according to a spokesperson. 

Domestic flights to Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin and Queenstown have not been affected by the fog.

According to the airport's website at 8:20am, 14 domestic flights have been delayed and 30 have been cancelled.  

The airport is advising passengers to check with their airline for more information regarding the latest flight information.

Auckland Airport said international flights had not been affected by the fog.

The fog is also affecting ferry services on Thursday morning.

Auckland Transport said Bayswater, Birkenhead, Devonport, Gulf Harbour, Half Moon Bay, Hobsonville and Matiatia ferry services will be experiencing 10-15 minute delays from 5:45am to 9:30am on Thursday morning due to fog.
