Police have launched a homicide investigation following a "sudden death" in Auckland on Monday morning.
Police were called to reports of a person injured at a house on Gloria Ave in the Auckland suburb of Te Atatū Peninsula at 7:15am.
Detective Inspector Aaron Proctor from the Waitematā CIB said a person was transported to hospital with critcal injuries but has since died of their injuries.
Proctor said a man was found at the address and is "assisting" police with their enquiries.
"A scene guard is currently in place and the public can expect to see an increased Police presence in the area this morning while our enquiries continue," Proctor said.
A Hato Hone St John spokesperson told Newshub it was alerted to an incident in Te Atatū Peninsula.
St John responded with an ambulance and a rapid response vehicle.

Earlier, locals reported armed police and ambulances "flying into" Gloria Ave in Te Atatū Peninsula.
People in a local Facebook group also reported police on Graham Ave and said officers "all have guns out".
Locals reported the police helicopter flying overhead and officers armed with rifles.
A section of Gloria Ave and Graham Ave is cordoned off, with police standing outside a home.
At least seven police cars can be seen at the scene of the incident.
