Two Auckland homes were the target of two separate shootings overnight and police are still searching for the offenders.
At 9:44pm a person shot several rounds from a firearm at home on Tyrone St in Ōtara.
A police spokesperson said some of the shots went inside the home, but thankfully, no one was hit or injured.
The alleged offender then fled the scene in a vehicle, though police were not able to track it and the offender remains on the run.
Footage captured by Newshub shows multiple police officers combing the front yard of the Ōtara property with torches.
It appears the vehicle parked in the driveway sustained some damage, but it's unclear whether the smashed windscreen is a result of the shooting.
Several hours later at around 1:29am, police were called to a home on Idlewild Ave in Māngere, where a person has again shot several rounds from a firearm into the property.
The shots hit the front door and windows, but luckily no one inside was hit or injured.
Again, the alleged offender fled the scene in vehicle and police were unable to locate it.
It's unclear whether the two shootings are linked, and police say they are working to determine that.
"There will be a notable police presence in both areas today as we work through our investigations."
