A man has been rescued after getting stuck on a cliff 20 metres below a walking track at Piha beach in West Auckland.
The man called police at 6:25pm on Sunday after getting trapped on a cliff at the well-known Tasman Lookout Track.
The Eagle helicopter was deployed and spotted him around 20 metres off the track.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand said the man was 15 metres from the top and 40m from the bottom.
Firefighters, police and St John worked together to recuse the man on Sunday night.
