Police have launched an investigation after a group of offenders armed with weapons entered an east Auckland bar, left an employee injured and fled with cash.
At around 1:37am on Thursday, police were called to 'Nite Fun 98' gaming lounge on Pakuranga Rd, after a group of offenders wielding weapons stormed the bar.
Police said the group threatened at least three employees, one of which was injured, then stole cash from the till.
"One of the employees has received minor injuries in relation to this incident and has received medical treatment overnight."
Police said the group left in a stolen vehicle and they remain on the run.
A scene guard will remain at the gaming lounge on Thursday morning while police continue their investigation. They say the victims are receiving support.
Police have spoken to a number of witnesses in relation to this incident but encourage anyone who has not yet spoken to police to please contact them on 105 and reference file number 230928/4248.
