Police are searching for a group of thieves who ram-raided the entrance of a Thames shopping centre on Tuesday morning.
Police said the ram raid was reported at 3am after a car was found abandoned at the Mary St shopping centre entrance.
Police believe the thieves entered one store in the shopping centre and stole a "number of items".
"Police have confirmed the car left at the shopping centre had earlier been stolen," a spokesperson said.
Police have launched an investigation into the ram raid and are trying to identify and find those responsible.
"Anyone with information which could assist our enquiries is asked to contact Police via 105, quoting file number 230905/2875," the spokesperson said.
"Information can also be provided anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111."
It comes after a luxury central Auckland handbag store was targeted by thieves in a smash and grab on Tuesday evening.
Police said a "number of items were taken" by the thieves before they fled in a stolen vehicle
It was the second time in almost as many months the handbag store had been targeted by thieves.
