A body has been found in the search for missing west Auckland man Dylan Barford.
Last month, police asked for help finding the 34-year-old, who was last seen wearing a black jacket and blue Adidas tear-away track pants on the evening of Saturday, September 23. A spokesperson said at the time there were concerns for his welfare and safety.
In an update on Friday, police said they were notified a body had been found in grassland, near the Hobsonville Rd off-ramp in West Harbour.
"A scene examination is underway and we ask that people avoid the area while this is ongoing," a police spokesperson said.
"While a formal identification process is still to be carried out, police believe it is the body of missing man Dylan Barford."
An investigation into the death is underway and a post-mortem is expected to be carried out. His family have been notified and are being provided support.
More information will be provided when available, police said.
