A central Auckland bus stop has been left worse for wear after a car ploughed into it early on Wednesday morning.
Emergency services were called to Pah Road in Epsom at 4:30am after a black SUV smashed into a bus stop.
A significant clean-up operation followed with the car being towed away about an hour later.
Footage from the scene shows the front of the SUV completely smashed and the bus stop heavily damaged, with glass shattered over the footpath.
The road remains open and the driver sustained moderate injuries but didn't need to go to hospital.
Hato Hone St John said it responded to the crash with an ambulance, a rapid response unit and an operations manager.
