One person is being rushed to hospital in a serious condition following a two-vehicle crash on State Highway 2 near Wellington.
At around 5:15am on Tuesday morning, emergency services responded to the crash near Marchant Road in Kaitoke, Upper Hutt.
A police spokesperson said one person is being transported to hospital in a serious condition, and the Serious Crash Unit has been notified.
In an update on Tuesday morning, police said State Highway 2 near Marchant Rd is now fully blocked and warns motorists to "expect delays".
"Motorists are advised to take an alternative route."
A Waka Kotahi spokesperson warned motorists travelling between Upper Hutt and Wairarapa to expect delays as contractors and emergency services attend the crash.
