Police have confirmed the body found in the search for a missing west Auckland man is Dylan Barford.
Last month, police asked for help finding Barford, 34, who was last seen wearing a black jacket and blue Adidas tear-away track pants on the evening of Saturday, September 23. A police spokesperson said at the time there were concerns for his welfare and safety.
Last Friday, police confirmed they were notified a body was found in grassland, near the Hobsonville Rd off-ramp in West Harbour.
After completing a formal identification process, police confirmed on Wednesday afternoon the body belongs to Barford.
"Our investigation team is working to support Dylan’s whānau at this difficult time," a police spokesperson said.
"The matter has now been referred to the Coroner."
