Armed police swarmed to west Auckland on Thursday morning and surrounded a house to complete a search warrant.
A large number of officers, some armed, arrived on Borich Road in Sunnyvale at around 5am on Thursday.
Newshub understands they were executing a pre-planned search warrant, with at least two people taken out of the property.
A police spokesperson confirmed to Newshub that a search warrant was being executed as part of an ongoing investigation.
"We are not currently in a position to comment further, however Police will provide further details once we are in a position to do so," the spokesperson said.
"Police reassure the public there is no risk to the wider public in regard to this morning’s warrant."
A Newshub camera person at the scene said officers could be heard using a megaphone and shouting at those inside not to hide and to "stop mucking around".
"This is the Auckland Armed Offenders Squad. Your house is surrounded by armed police," they could be heard saying.
"We have a search warrant for your property. We will not be leaving. Hurry up. Do not hide - you will be found."
Police told Newshub a number of other search warrants were being executed across the city, including another on Contessa Drive in Glenfield.
Residents on a local Facebook page reported armed police on Stanley Rd, which is connected to Contessa Drive.
Roads in the area were closed but have since reopened.
Police were unable to say how, or if, the other raids were linked to the Sunnyvale operation.
