Police have launched an investigation into the death of an infant in south Auckland on Monday morning.
Police said officers were called to a property on Red Hill Road in the Auckland suburb of Papakura at 4:46am where an "infant was located deceased".
A police spokesperson said the child's death is currently being treated as "unexplained".
"Police will provide further information when we are in a position to do so," the spokesperson said.
