A person has been critically injured in a two-vehicle crash in Wellington central.
Emergency services were called to The Tce at about 11:10am on Thursday.
A Wellington Free Ambulance spokesperson said staff responded to the crash and transported a person in a critical condition to Wellington Hospital.
The Tce at the intersection with Aurora Tce is closed while emergency services respond.
"Motorists are advised to avoid the area," police said.
The serious crash unit has been advised.
Images supplied to Newshub show emergency services scattered across The Tce responding to the crash, with paramedics surrounding a person on the ground.
A man close to the scene said he saw a member of the public performing CPR.
A van from wholesale food company Gilmours appears to have been involved in the crash.
Newshub approached Gilmours for comment but they said while they were aware of the crash, they were not in a position to comment.
