A man who was stuck on a cliff in Auckland's North Shore this evening has been rescued.
Fire and Emergency received a call from a man stuck on the side of a cliff on Castor Bay's Beach Rd at 7:15pm on Sunday.
The man was stuck 10 metres from the bottom of the cliff and was unable to get down.
"We responded with a local brigade and a specialist rescue team," a Fire and Emergency (FENZ) spokesperson said.
FENZ told Newshub the man was by himself at the time.
A specialist lines rescue unit was deployed from the top of the cliff, where they made their way down to the man.
He was then assisted by the team and taken down to the safety of the beach at 7:50pm.
"He's now making his way over to an ambulance to be looked at," FENZ said.
