A sentencing date for convicted triple-murderer Lauren Dickason has been delayed until 2024.
Te Kōti Matua o Ōtautahi/ the High Court in Christchurch released a statement on Thursday confirming the postponement.
"The sentencing for Mrs Dickason has been adjourned. At this stage, no future sentencing date has been allocated."
A nominal date for the matter to be called again is in February 2024, when a new sentencing hearing could be set. She was originally supposed to be sentenced on December 19, 2023.
Dickason, a 42-year-old doctor from South Africa, migrated to Te Tihi-o-Maru/Timaru with her family in 2020.
In August this year, a jury found Dickason guilty of murdering her three young daughters - just two weeks after moving here.
Dickason admitted killing her daughters, but denied the three murder charges, with her lawyer instead putting forward a defence of insanity or infanticide.
The jury found her guilty on all three murder charges and she now faces a sentence of life in prison.
A protest in support of Dickason was planned ahead of her sentencing date.
The protest was organised by the Facebook page 'Support Lauren Dickason' which has thousands of members.
A petition supporting the mum has also collected hundreds of signatures in the months since she was convicted.
